Getting Started¶
So you've heard about Lyonspyre and want in. This is the 10-minute version: install, log in, make a character, understand the loop.
The pitch¶
Lyonspyre is a freeshard running T2A-era combat (no AOS damage curves, no Insurance, no item properties bloat) with a layer of modern progression systems on top:
- Dungeon Talents — per-region talent trees you earn by playing in that dungeon. Spec into Archery, Magic, three melee schools, Healing, or pet/taming.
- Resonance — six elemental schools attached to your weapon, armour, and accessories. Each slot grants passive bonuses and contributes to an Ultimate proc.
- Real PvM depth — bosses use a threat system (so the tank actually tanks), elites have mechanics, dungeons reward you over time.
You're not playing 2026 World of Warcraft. You're playing 1999 UO with the knobs we wish someone had turned.
Three things to do first¶
- Install the client — one launcher, one click, no UO Classic install required (the launcher bundles everything).
- Your first hour — spawn, choose your path from the in-game menu, find Elder Mara, do the welcome quest, head to The Pit.
- Pick a build — long-form guidance on the seven archetypes, what skills they want, how they scale.
