Boating Arena

Lyonspyre's naval PvP arena: 2 to 7 boats square off on an open stretch of water, every hull carrying the exact same randomly-rolled kit, so the fight is decided by your helm and your aim — not by who ground the better deeds. Play it free-for-all or in two teams.

Open the Arena panel with [arena and pick BOATING in the top mode-picker bar.

Formats

Format Boats Wins when
Free-for-all 2–7 boats, you pick how many One hull is left afloat.
Teams 2v2 (4 boats) or 3v3 (6 boats) One team has a hull left afloat.

The host picks the format, the boat size (Small / Medium / Large), and the count in the lobby. There is no speed/tank/damage picker — see Equal loadout below.

Friendly fire is ON in team matches

A cannonball that lands on a teammate's hull does full damage. There are no safe shots — mind your lines. If you sink your own side, that's on you.

Equal loadout — completely fair

When the lobby fills and the match starts, the matchmaker rolls one random loadout and stamps an identical copy onto every boat in the match:

  • Crew — the same roster of deckhands (random roles + rarities), on every ship.
  • Upgrades — the same six upgrade slots (powder, sailcloth, hull plating, rigging, figurehead, repair kit) at the same rolled values.
  • Abilities — the same six tiered boat abilities (3 Lesser, 2 Regular, 1 Greater), fitted to your hotbar and ready to fire, on the same shared cooldowns.
  • Ship colours — every hull, set of cannons, and set of sails wears the same rolled paint.

You bring nothing of your own ship's fittings into the arena, and you can't lose anything from your own ship. Two captains, identical decks — the better sailor wins.

Ready-up lobby

A boating match does not start the instant it fills. Once every seat has a boat, each player arms their own READY on the YOUR MATCH tab. When everyone is ready, the match auto-starts (a 10-second countdown ticks over your heads while you sit on your start tiles). This lets a 2v2 or 3v3 wait for a full, ready field instead of launching half-crewed.

The roster on the YOUR MATCH tab shows every seat, each player's team (in team matches), and a READY / / OUT state.

Elimination — the match plays on

Knocking a player out no longer ends the match — it removes one player and the rest fight on:

  • Hull sunk — your boat is destroyed; you're out.
  • You fall in battle — dying on deck takes you out (your gear is safe — see below).
  • Long disconnect — drop offline past the grace window and you forfeit your seat.

When you're eliminated you're returned to wherever you were before the match, healed up and hidden for a clean getaway. The last hull afloat (FFA) — or the last team with a hull (Teams) — wins. If the timer runs out first, the win goes to the side with the most surviving hull HP.

No risk to your gear

The arena suppresses the normal death sequence for participants: no corpse, no item drop, no insurance hit. You keep everything you walked in with. When the match ends — win, lose, or draw — every survivor is returned to where they started and left hidden.
