World map location sharing

The world map (open it from your paperdoll, or bind a key) can show the live positions of your party and your guild as coloured dots. Party dots are yellow, guild dots are green; a dot greys out when that person is on a different facet.

Sharing is on by default

New characters share their location with both party and guild out of the box — your group can see you, and you can see them, without anyone touching a setting first. You stay in control: right-click the world map to toggle either share independently.

  • Share my position with party — on by default.
  • Share my position with guild — on by default.

Turning a share off stops broadcasting your dot to that group. You'll still see other members who are sharing (there's a separate "show guildmate dots" toggle if you'd rather not render theirs either).

Existing characters keep your choice

Only brand-new characters get the on-by-default behaviour. If you'd already set your sharing preference, it is left exactly as you had it.

Names on the map

Each shared dot is labelled with that member's name. When a party member walks out of your view range, the map now keeps showing their last-known name instead of the old "<out of range>" placeholder — your client remembers party members' names even when they're across the map.

A guild member who has never been in your view range this session may still show "<out of range>" until you've seen them up close once; after that, their name sticks.
